What branch of service has the fastest promotion rate?

My friend wants to join the military but he wants the branch which has the fastest promotion rate. Can anyone advice the right branch and what website i can see that in black and white?|||Too many variables to give an answer. I made E-5 (USAF) in about 3 years and 4 months.|||VidaLoca Libertarian. There are no possible waivers to get promoted to E-7 in seven years.. It is impossible even for special forces and Rangers. You have to be in the army at Least 4 years to make SSG E-6 and then you have to wait two years in that grade to be boarded for E-7 so 6 years is min.

|||I meant E-7 in Five years not Seven. Six is the minimum time for e-7

|||Without a doubt, the overall advancement rate in the Army is much faster than the other services! However, there is nothing in black and white. It all depends on your Rate/MOS/AFSC and assignments.

I've worked in Joint commands the past 4 years and have witnessed firsthand the promotion rates of all the services. The Army has the fastest possible advancement. The Air Force and Navy have mandatory time in each rank, whereas the Army can waiver all of that.

We had Army guys make E-7 in 7 years!! In the Navy, Marines and Air Force that is impossible. Average to E-5 in the Army is 4 years, Navy and Air Force 6, Marines 5. Average to E-6 is 6 in the Army, Navy and Air Force is 9 and Marines is 7.

There are cases of Navy guys making Chief (E-7) in 8 years, but there are also cases of Army guys making E-7 in 5 years! (Rangers)|||You can't see that in black and white. That info is not available.

However, from experience, most people who have been in will tell you it's the infantry, either Army or Marines.

They get the most people killed, therefore, have the most openings, therefore, the most opportunity for promotion.|||Definitely Army.

More specifically combat arms in Army.

I've looked at all the information and people make higher rank in shorter times than the Air Force or Navy and way faster than the Marines.

Special Forces in the Army also has an extremely fast promotion rate due to high attrition.
