What is the best branch of the armed forces to join?

I'm a US citizen and I will be a junior in high school next year and I am thinking about joining the armed forces. What branch should I enter and why.|||Depends on how long you plan to stay in. Just one Tour with some college money?... talk to them all. Most all of them have great training but limited entry to certain fields/jobs. What field interests you? And does that training have a counter part in the civillian work place?

An Army Tank tech doesnt have a lot of jobs out of the service, where a Flight Deck skill will land you a job at any airport. Military Police is also comparable, do you see my point. Match what you can recieve training on with the civilian job market. And remember you have to be Qualified to enter training for the field/fields you choose. ASVAB test.

The military is a good stable life. Lots of training, routine, and travel. Steady pay and advancement. Best Medical/Dental. Best Retirement!

The Navy has the faster advancement system, the Air Force has the slowest. But an E4 in the Air Force living on Base has a better quality of life. It's just the way each branch spends it money in the belief of whats beeter to keep thier people happy.

If you're still in school, think about one of the ROTC programs. Kind of a peak of what will be required...and possibley entry as an Officer.|||Well, that depends on what you want to do. I was a Marine, and I think it is the greatest service there is. However, if you want to have a more laid back, less difficult experience, go Air Force. Check with your recruiters, and see what they will offer you to enlist. Bonuses, choice duty stations, get what you want in writing.|||Pay no attention to Xiandier. he is one of those folks who cherish their rights and ignore their responsibilities. I favor the Navy-I enjoyed all the travel and new friends.|||I joined the Army out of high school. If I had known better I would have probably joined the Air Force. I hear it's more laid back. One thing that you should consider is where these different branches have base locations. The Army doesn't have too many great locations. You can also ask the recruiter if it is possible for you to choose your first duty station.|||talk to all of them and find out what the best fit for you is. I was in the Army and Air Force of those to to tell you the truth i didn't really like the Air Force. But who is to say that it would not be a good fit for you. your going to get allot of bias answers here but its a choice that you can make. Sit down talk to all the recruiters listen what they have to say and see what happens.|||I'm a little partial to the Marines, but it really depends on what you want. Do a little research on the net, talk to recruiters, if you know anyone in the military, talk to them. There are great opportunities in every branch. Make sure you make this decision based on what you want, not what someone else may want. Sounds selfish, but this is your life. Good Luck!
