What happens to you when the branch of a chain of stores you work for closes?

A branch, of a chain of stores, where my friend works is threatening closure should sales not increase. Where do they stand should this happen? Would the company have to pay redundancy money or try to find them another job within the chain? My friend has done no wrong with the company, only be their top sales man of the branch. But, unfortunately trade is no longer coming through the doors.|||Your friend would quality for unemployment benefits. The company has no obligation to find them another job, it's part of the economy. Sucks, but it is what it is.|||Hey Sweetie

Visit www.yourjobsfinder.com for this. Someone asked this question 1 week ago but i cant seem to find the old post, mabye they deleted it off Yahoo Answers.|||my gf had the same thing , she had to get a different job, she did get unemployment compensation while she was looking.|||He who works hard and does his best, goes down the road with all the rest...SAD but true! They should get redundancy money as fas as i know and thats about it...
