What is the best branch and mos in the military to switch over to law enforcment?

What is the best MOS/Rate and branch of military to prepare someone for Law enforcment such as a police officer and eventually S.W.A.T? I am pretty sure it would be Military Police(right?) but what would be the best branch?|||US Army, either 11B Infantryman or 31B Military Police.

11B is trained for more combat-related stuff, and 31B for more police work. In actuality, both do a lot of similar stuff on deployment, . For a cop, I would lean more to 31B, but for specifically SWAT, I dunno which might be better.

Don't forget about Army Advanced Marksman School, if you wanna be a SWAT sniper.

If you wanted to be like an Air Marshal or something, you might go for Air Force Security Forces. But that doesn't appear to be what you're after.|||The best place to get this information is from the police department you want to join. Many of those police departments that work with the Coast Guard, consider highly Coast Guard Law Enforcement experience, because we do actual Law Enforcement. In a few years there will be a Law Enforcement rate, currently the bulk of Law Enforcement is done by BMs and MKs, but every rate has the opportunity to participate in Law Enforcement to some degree or another.|||MP or Special Forces.|||MP (31B)
