What branch of the military has the best flight programs?

I am interested in pursuing an aviation career at 28 years old, and am wondering what branch of the military would provide the very best education that would give me the best opportunity to land a career in commercial or business aviation after completing my military obligation.

Most would likely assume it would be the "Air Force," but I didn't know if that was the case or not. Thanks alot for any help!|||Thank you for your interest in serving. All jobs in the military can provide a foundation for a career in the aviation field. Due to your age, you CANNOT be a pilot in The Navy or Marines. In general....

1. Air Force/Navy/Marine Corps/Coast Guard

Aviation Supply

Air Traffic Control

2. Air Force

You can enter the Air Force Pilots program. You must meet a selection board before age 28 1/2. Must enter Undergraduate Flying Training (UPT) before age 30

Army- Must not have reached the 33rd birthday as of the date of the convening board. Waivers for those who are 33 or 34 years of age at the time of the board may be considered, provided the applicant is otherwise exceptionally highly qualified. (Note: this means the applicant has a bachelor's degree, a high college GPA, flight training, or very high scores on the Army Flight Aptitude Exam

Coast Guard- The Coast Guard does not accept pilot applications, unless the person has already been a military pilot in a different service. To apply, one must be over 21 and under 32 years of age, must have at least 500 hours as a rated military pilot, and must have full-time flying experience within two years of the application.

Which branch is best, only you can decide.|||I heard it was actually the Navy that had the best programs.

Wtf? I get downvoted for saying the truth? The navy is better for flying. everyone knows that. The airforce doesn't run those carriers, you know.|||Hmm I think the Navy.

Haha just kidding. Of course the Air Force.|||That would obviously be the Air Force. Go for either MAC or SAC.

Sorry, it was MAC when I was in. Now it's called the AMC.

Either way, stay away from fighter pilot. Not a big crossover market for them. But it's not so bad for those flying cargo and passengers around.

Believe it or not, there's not a whole lot of big passenger jets landing on aircraft carriers, and not a whole lot of civilian aircraft carriers to land on once you crossover from the military to a civilian career.|||The Navy has more fighter jets than the Air Force, believe it or not. The Air Force has the big cargo planes/ bombers and high tech stealth planes though. Either one, it's your call. I'd choose Navy, but that's only because I'm in it :)|||Naval Aviators|||I'm pretty sure the Air force. That is where all of my friends want to go and they know just about everything about airplanes.|||At 28 all you may be eligible for is the Army warrant officer program unless you already have a bachelors degree.

http://usmilitary.about.com/od/joiningth鈥?/a>|||my uncle got his pilot license when he was 15. (that was awhile ago) ha...now he's a pilot for Jet Blue.

28 is old to just be Starting your flying career. but you can still do it, it depends what you want to fly (jets, helecoptors) or what you want to do (supplies, medical)...do some research and figure out what you really want to pursue, then talk to a recruiter of that military branch.|||The boy scouts,..have women leadres now...wonder if they are getting any...free flights
